The "Xpedisi Bersama Red Bull" received an overwhelming response. After much deliberation, the winners were announced and a prize giving ceremony was held on 23rd August 2010.

SKATEBOARD, INLINE & BBOYS SHOWDOWN AT KUCHING WATERFRONT

KUCHING, 28 July 2010 – Fans of extreme sports in Kuching are certainly in for a special treat, as Red Bull will be flying in to Kuching renowned professional skater Idzham Am Cher as part of the Borneo Skateboard and Inline Competition special event. The event is jointly organised by Numero Uno and Youth and Sports Department.

Idzham will share his experience and skills with local extreme sports enthusiasts besides judging the Borneo Skateboard and Inline Competition to be held at Kuching Waterfront on Aug 7 from 9am to 5pm. Entries to the competition is free and open to all Sarawakians.Top three prizes worth RM1,000, RM500 and RM250 respectively are up for grabs.

In conjunction with the skateboard and inline competition, breakers from all around Sarawak are also up for another explosive celebration of dance as “Red Bull 3 on 3 Battle” promises break dance enthusiasts and hip hop fans another sizzling break dance extravaganza.

Open to all Sarawakians, each crew should consist of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 4 members.

Winner of this Bboy battle will win a trip inclusive of air tickets, accommodation and spending money to take part in the Red Bull Battle of Borneo (BBIII), the biggest annual Bboy event in Borneo which will be held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah later this year.

Sepang 1,000KM (S1K) race began at noon with temperature shooting the thermometer sky-high. Well, at least it didn't rain!

RBR finished the race at 11spot out of 22 others in Class 1.. Impressive ladies!!!

So what do you need after driving for 9 hours? RED BULL!!!

The Red Bull Rookies completed the race with minor technical glitch and accidents. A total of 162 laps, 10 pit stops and 8 hours 33 minutes on the track. As Rookies, the team did well, considering they are competing against a list of impressive experienced racers.

Let’s wish for more action for the next Sepang 1000KM…

RED BULL ROOKIES ANNOUNCES DRIVER LINE-UP FOR S1K RACE

SEPANG, 18 MAY 2010 – The all female racing team, Red Bull Rookies has today announced that Puteri Ayu Jasmin, Carmen Lim, Noradzlianayati Abdul Radzak and Melline Jaini to spearhead driving duties for the upcoming Sepang 1000KM race. The team also announced its fifth member, Lee Hui Jing as reserve driver.

The line-up was announced by the team manager, Mr Kenvin Low after their night practise session at Sepang Circuit. The team spent several days last week evaluating before selecting drivers to take the wheel this year. Drivers were evaluated on the basis of their skill on the track and ability to work as a team.

Commenting on their selection, Kenvin said “Puteri is at a point where she can bring home wins and make a run for the race. Carmen, Liana and Melline earned their spot by exceeding our expectations during the trainings”.

“We have been working on this project since December 2009. Our main goal was to put together a group of the right girls to represent the Red Bull Rookies. We are very happy with our current driver line-up; not only will we be able to take part in the race, but there is a great shot at exceeding the benchmark set previously,” he added.

Puteri Ayu Jasmin is no stranger to the local motorsport scene and is entering her third year of racing under Red Bull Rookies. Puteri brings with her a wealth of experience having competed in the Merdeka Millenium Endurance Race in 2008 and in the inaugural Sepang 1000KM race last year.

“We are hoping to build on our successes from previous years and maintain our 100% finish record,” said Puteri. “It is going to be exciting with the driver line-up that we have, there’s some vast skills, some raw talent and a lot of passion in the team. We have a competitive car, and we are incredibly enthusiastic about the team’s performance on race day,” she added.

“Having the chance to be part of the Red Bull Rookies this year is incredible for me and a major step in my career. Obviously, what they’ve been able to accomplish in the last two years is unbelievable, which makes this an ideal situation for me to push myself further,” said Carmen Lim.

Liana and Melline, both from Brunei Darussalam are ecstatic to be racing for the first time. “It’s an honor to be representing the team,” said Liana. “It was a big deal for me, personally, to get this opportunity to race with an all female team. Our goal is to give our level best and have a lot of fun during the race.”

The Red Bull Rookies, Puteri Ayu Jasmin, Carmen Lim, Lee Hui Jing, Liana Radzak and Melline Jaini went through a special "MEET THE PRESS" session.

Since 2 of them are from Brunei, and their time here in KL are extremely limited, the girls went through a packed schedule. Newspaper interviews, magazine interviews, TV interviews were all the girls speak, eat and sleep in between training sessions. Were they ready for the “glam light”?? Red Bull Kampong Run

24th April 2010 -A carnival spot of fun-filled activities for the locals. “Red Bull Kampong Run” invites participants to compete in a 5km race with local traditional games as part of the challenges.

The first of its kind in the East Coast region, it is created based on a team-building concept. This one-day affair requires a team of three to complete the 'around Kampong' run with challenges such as catching ducks, giant croc, drinking Red Bull using straw and many more.

The first Red Bull Kampong Run was held at Pantai Sri Genting, Kelantan.

Red Bull Rookies new driver line-up for 2010 Sepang 1000km race

Red Bull Malaysia on 23 January, 2010, unveiled the Red Bull Rookies team which consists an all-female line-up of 3 Malaysian and 2 fresh drivers from Brunei. These Red Bull Rookies will compete in the upcoming Sepang 1000km race, slated to kick off its 2010 edition in June.

Red Bull Malaysia along with its partner Asia Advanced Driving Academy (AADA) have hand-picked these aspiring rookies to compete in the current season's domestic motorsports series, namely the SIC 1000km. The chosen ones for this year's Red Bull Rookies were Carmen Lim and Lee Hui Jing with two other drivers from Brunei to be announced at a later date. Mentored by current Red Bull Malaysia racing driver Puteri Ayu Jasmin and trained by AADA's chief trainer Kenvin Low, these rookies are bound to blaze the track once the full training program has been completed by June.

Carmen and Hui Jing were among the six finalists selected from the 2009 Red Bull Female Driver Search. Last year's Red Bull Female Driver Search saw 2,500 entries for the program in a series of nationwide roadshows held at various major cities. In the end, Carmen and Hui Jing made the cut and immediately underwent a tough training session which included a Smart Women driving course and the challenging advanced driving boot camp.

Both drivers have not had any track experience and are vying to give it their best in the upcoming track experience and training, and ultimately the 1000km race.

Carmen said, "Firstly, I would like to thank Red Bull for this great

This year, Red Bull Malaysia has also decided to expand its campaign to
Brunei in search of the two would-be rookies to join forces with the
trio of Malaysian female drivers to complete the line-up for the 2010
Red Bull Rookies team.

Competent Bruneians who are selected will undergo a practical test
followed by more grueling selection processes, including driving course
and advanced driving course boot-camp. After the boot camp, the final
two will be elected to race with the Malaysian trio for the 1000km race.

REDBULL BATTLE OF BORNEO III

The battle is back with a new get-up.

This November, breakers from all around Sabah prepares for another explosive celebration of dance as Red Bull’s break dance battle is back to sizzle the dance floor. The competition has the goal of discovering eight outstanding B-Boys to represent Red Bull and Sabah at the Malaysia’s Battle of The Year (BOTY) 2010, a highly anticipated B-Boys competition to be held in Kuala Lumpur.

Since its inception last year, Red Bull’s Battle of Borneo III (BB III) which was formerly known as Red Bull’s Lords of The Ring has evolved into one of the largest break dance competition in the state. The minds, bodies and souls of the break dancers will be tested to the limit at this year’s competition which slated to be held on 21st and 22nd November 2009 at One Borneo Hypermall, Kota Kinabalu.

BB III’s “B-Boy Battle” comprises of straight up battles in which each set of crew (three person) will be challenging other crew (Crew vs Crew) back to back. Participants are then judged based on their performance of the essential foundations of break dancing; techniques, flips, agility, speed, dynamic, as well as inventive and stylistic movements. In this intense and highly-charged atmosphere, only the strongest will survive.
Similar to last year’s competition, the ‘Cypher’ concept will be showcased yet again, as breakers take turn dancing in the centre of the battle circle known as The Ring. Breaker boys and girls can also show off their forte in the solo competition to stand a chance in winning the ‘Solo Supremacy’ title.

And the only way to draw the best moves out of everyone is to raise the stakes. When the spotlight comes on, the breakers will battle each other while facing a selection of highly respected judges - local star Bboy Suicide4 and Bboy Gonza from Thailand.

As break dancing is synonym to the hip-hop culture, there will be a special performance by Jin Hackman, a hip hop artiste who recently won the KLUE Magazine Blue Chili Award. Apart from this, there will also be activities for visitors to participate at the One Borneo Hypermall.

Borneo III is an urban-themed event organized by Red Bull Malaysia to provide a portal for the existing Breaker-Boys (B-Boys) community to showcase their unique balance of style, talent, skills and inventiveness in addition to keep this inspirational urban art form alive.

Siol Extreme Mountain Bike Challenge 2009

Greetings from Bumi Kenyalang aka Land of Hornbills!

Red Bull was present at the Siol Extreme Mountain Bike Challenge held at Bukit Siol, Semariang , Kuching last weekend to energise the participants, the organisers and those who help the event a success.

The event was organised by Sarawak Cycling Association and it was a part of the Kuching City Festival Program. Amongst the categories contested were Downhill Challenge and Cross Country. The event was well participated by top riders from Sarawak, Sabah, Pahang and Selangor.

And we were lucky to meet... Sarawak's very own SUKMA (Malaysian Games) downhill gold medalist Ghazali Hakiki (in the middle in photo below).

And another home grown champion, Junaidah Juss (below) who is also a SUKMA gold medalist and will be representing Malaysia in this year's SEA Games in Laos. And obviously she won the ladies open category :)

Before the flagging off of the Men's Open Cross Country Race where 51 "ultra-fit" guys battled it out in the 18-laps race (fyi each lap around the entire Bukit Siol terrain takes about 7-9 minutes).

So before the start of the race participants were sampled with Red Bull, to enhance their physical endurance and increase their reaction speed.

It was an exciting week for us here at Red Bull because after long hours of deliberating and endless discussions and many, many cans of Red Bull (it was THAT hard to pick between the Final 6), we're finally ready to unveil the new members of our Red Bull Rookies...

Diana Chin from Penang and Nurhayati Omar from Johor will now join Puteri and Leona on the racetrack in June for the inaugural Sepang 1000KM.

For now though, training is firmly in session and the two girls have a lot to do before they'll get to show the boys how it's really done on the track!

We of course can't forget the rest of the amazing ladies who made up the Final 6, who gave us all they've got and made it that much harder to pick just two.

Big shout outs have to go to other members of the Final 6, all of whom attended the Red Bull Female Driver Search 'boot camp' in March where they underwent gruelling training, which included having to perform behind the wheel and in front of a camera, although we do trust that you managed to have a bit of fun in between as well! =)

Congratulations again to Raja, Azah, Hui Jing and Carmen, all of whom have come a very long way from the Red Bull Female Driver Search held in late 2008. It was no easy feat to have beaten out 2500 other young women nationwide to make it this far!

For us at Red Bull now though, it's time get serious, what with a race coming up in about two months' time.

So till we meet again, this is your Red Bull rep signing off!

Red Bull Female Driver Search - Top 30!

Over the weekend the Top 30 participants from the nationwide Red Bull Female Driver Search gathered in Shah Alam to participate in the Smart Woman Driving Course organised by Asia Advanced Driving Academy.

The participants first met each other during the briefing ceremony held the night before and friendships were instantly formed. The key people from the Red Bull Rookies briefed the girls on what to expect from the upcoming project to prepare them since two of the girls who were present today were going to officially become a Red Bull Rookie very soon!

Of course as is the case with any gathering that consisted of girls, some camwhoring was definitely going to ensue...

The very next day all Top 30 girls had to go to the Kelab Golf Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah in Shah Alam for their driving course with their future trainer Kenvin Low.

The course started off with a theory briefing on the importance of defensive driving as well as touching on key points on the importance of being prepared on how to handle certain driving situations.

Soon enough however, it was the time the Top 30 were surely waiting for - practical driving!

The whole group then adjourned to the Shah Alam Stadium carpark where they were given the chance to try out all the things that they had learnt in the classroom earlier that day by the very able trainers from AADA.

All in all it was a pretty great day for everybody involved (After all, who would mind working if it involved taking care of 30 very beautiful women?).

Now all that's left to do is for the Red Bull Female Driver Search Crew to go through the unenviable task of finding the Top 6 girls who will make it through to the next round!

Red Bull as Official Energy Drink was presented at Penang State Street Dance Competition 2008 to energize all participants, danzers and committee. It was fabulous coz we have "Red Bull Opinion Leader - Saiful Nizam and his crew" to come up all the way from KL to perform straight after the official launching by YB Lydia Ong Kok Fooi.

I-DANCE 2008 is a street dance campaign organized by the Malaysian Street Dancers United Association (MASDU) and co-managed by Danzity Productions. It has been recognized as one of the most highly publicized dance event in the country in 2008.

1st PD Skim Jamm

Hey y'all!

We ended 2008 by joining in the fun at the 1st every PD Skim Jamm, where skimboarders from all over the nation came to Pantai 1 at Teluk Kemang in Port Dickson to compete for the title of best Malaysian skimboarder!

Skimboarding is a really new sport in Malaysia and it's like a mix of surfing and wakeboarding. The skimboards are slim, wooden panels roughly the size and shape of a wakeboard but a lot thinner.

Unlike surfing, skimboarding begins on the beach, with the skimboarder running and dropping their board onto the thin wash of previous waves. They use their momentum to 'skim' out to breaking waves, which they then catch back into shore in a manner similar to surfing.

So we were there to set up an Energy Station for the skimboarders, where we served icy cold Red Bull which was a welcome relief on such a hot day!

The Search is finally OVER!

The end of 2008 was very hectic with us, what with travelling all around the nation for the last legs of the roadshows.

We'd like to thank everybody from Melaka, Penang, Johor, KL, Selangor, Kota Bahru, Kuala Terengganu and Kota Kinabalu for coming out to see us and to join in on the fun.

Over 2,500 girls signed up to be in the running to be a Red Bull Rookie and over the past two weeks we've had the tough task of finding our Top 30 Finalists.

The Lords of The Ring - 1 Borneo, Kota Kinabalu

On Saturday, 22nd November 2008, an event was held at the largest lifestyle hyper mall in East Malaysia, 1 Borneo Kota Kinabalu. The 'Lords of The Ring' event took place at the North Atrium from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

A total of 20 teams participated in the competition with groups coming from Sipitang, Keninggau, Tawau, Papar & even Kuala Lumpur!

The Red Bull Mini as the Energy Station and also as an attraction to audiences and passerby.

The judges were from KL & included Malaysia BBoy President: BBoy Suicide DA4, BBoy Wakaka & BBoy Wan. As soon as they arrived, the competition kick started at 12:30 p.m. The judges briefed the participants about the rules and regulations of the competition, the do's and don'ts and wished all participants luck.

It was a tight fight between the 20 teams. The teams that made it to the 2nd round were fighting their way to victory, showing off their skillful talents.

Just look at the crowd. They were not only supporting the teams, but also cheering for their favourite Bboy team.

Not only the participants are getting their energy boosted up but also the media and the public for the upcoming rounds.

Among the interesting performance was that the Best BBoy finals, required the BBoys to dance with the REDBULL drink!

In the final round, there were three chosen teams to compete amongst themselves. This round took longer than expected due to the hard decisions of the judges to decide which team will take the place of the 2nd Runner-up, 1st Runner-up and the Champion. The results were announced with full curiosity and anticipation from the teams and the audiences.

Champion: Lunatik Crew (from Tawau), winning RM1,500 + trophy + cash vouchers from Bod Bodynits and Star Three Sixty + 1 night stay at the Imperial International Hotel.

1st runner-up: The Borneo Crew (from KK), winning RM1,000 + trophy + cash vouchers from Bod Bodynits and Star Three Sixty.

2nd runner-up: Morning of Ghost (from KL), winning RM500 + trophy + cash vouchers from Bod Bodynits and Star Three Sixty.

BEST BBOY 2008: BBoy Kinobu, won RM250 + trophy + REDBULL Items.

After the prize giving cermony, a photograph session took place which includes the three winning teams.

Although the event ended later according to schedule, it was a success..a BIG thanks to the sponsors: 1 Borneo, Imperial International Hotel, Bodynits and star three sixty, all the media involved.

And last but not least, the Red Bull team. Well done!

Red Bull Female Driver Search Stop 2 -- IPOH!

As the team was driving into Ipoh, the first thing we noticed were some outstanding buntings and banners!

Imagine our surprise (okay, not really) to discover that the banners and buntings were actually OURS! =D

Our next stop on the Red Bull Female Driver Search nationwide tour was Ipoh, Perak and our venue for this location was Dataran MBI, which was right opposite Ipoh Parade!

This was our first stop in Peninsular Malaysia so we were really nervous about it, but everyone was so great and the particpants were really sporting so in the end we really didn't have anything to worry about!

Red Bull Female Driver Search, Kuching

Late last month the Red Bull Female Driver Search crew boarded a plane and headed off to the Land of the Hornbills for the first stop on the nationwide Red Bull Female Driver Search!

Everyone was really excited not only because this was the first stop on our 9-state tour it was also the first time the Search is being held in East Malaysia!

Our search in Kuching was held at Boulevard Mall on beautiful Saturday, the 25th of October.

Apart from the open registrations our Rookies also made a simple track for the Red Bull RC Car Challenge where contestants stood a chance to win a great prize!

During the Merdeka Millennium Endurance Race, they have done us proud by finishing 6th in their class, within top 40 overall! Celebrations are in order for these rookies who have surpassed their own expectation and proven that girls can burn up the tracks too!

We have just launched yet another exciting event for the girls! This time around we are looking for the next Red Bull Female Drive to join our for 4 girls, Lina, Leona, Zura and Puteri. We threw this special media session at our favourite hangout, Borneo Baruk Club and it was so thrilling for us to see how our ladies handle the media like the pros they are.

That very day, we also previewed a reel that showcase the gruelling training that the girls have been going through these past few months. Another highlight of the event was definitely the two charming emcees who kept the ball rolling and being entertained by the b-boy dancers: Floor fever. Kudos to them.

The following day, we whisked the 4 girls to 8tv studio for their Quickie segment. Ah, the perils of Red Bull Female Driver does come with the whole 15 minutes of fame! YES! What are you waiting for? Sign up now!

One of our highly anticipated event thus far kicked off with a bang earlier last week! Held at the Mont Kiara Skate Park, over 200 participants and bystanders showed up to lend their support for this event.

By no means this event was an ordinary skateboarders get together. We decided to jazz things up a little bit by introducing an on-going concept of what we called the "jam session" where all kinds of skates were allowed on the grounds from noon onwards. Which would lead to a friendly competition later on.

We punctually kicked start our event by unveiling the wall, where the graffiti artists worked their magic in creating the back drop of Red Bull Power Grind. Needless to say, we were all blown away by their sheer talent. Hmmm, I wonder if we were allowed to keep the "wall".

During this event, the participants were introduced to a much more laid back concept where all of them would skate together in the middle of the park and a judge would roves around amidst them, checking out the competition.

Whilst all this was going on, we had tons of refreshment and yummy food being served. It was safe to say, that I positioned myself strategically across the barbecue pit for obvious reasons. Yummy! =D

When the sun began to set, we brought in independent local acts to work the awesome crowd. The spectators and skaters themselves were seen grooving and dancing to the music and altogether having a good ol' time.

Towards the end of the night, we began to tally the scores and invited the winners to on stage to collect their well-earned prizes and thropies.

For the competitions, the ‘Best Trick’ award was presented for each discipline which were skateboard, inline, BMX park and BMX flatland. The ‘Best Trick’ winners managed to walk away with a gorgeous trophy from Red Bull as well as a limited edition Red Bull Power Grind t-shirt along with some very fantastic merchandisse from Oakley and Zone 5.

On top of that we also had a category called the ‘Sickest Trick’ which was given out to skaters (irregardless of discipline) who performed the most wackiest, most daring stunts.

It was truly rewarding for all of us @ Red Bull to see everyone having such a blast and walking home with a smile across their faces.

Stunt Kite Clinic at Kelantan

Not many people can say they travelled a good 5 hours to fly kites. But, the Team Red Bull Malaysia certainly did! Just last weekend, we took off to the east coast for the inaugural International Kite Festival at Kelantan.

So much buzz and hype had been surrounding this event; all of us could hardly contain our excitement when we arrived. After all, some of us have never even seen a kite before let alone fly one. It's not too surprising considering how this generation is simply immersed with tech gadgets for play.

Even though we kept reminded each other we were there for work, we also had fun along the way. I for one was ever determined to fly a kite that day!

Throughout the day, the weather wasn't quite up to par but we certainly didn't let it dampen our spirits.

The stunt kite clinic was an on-going session from day till dusk. We had tons of curious on-lookers who were sporting enough to give it a go with some help and guidance from the stunt kite team.

That's how big the kite is compared to a Kancil! =P

A huge canopy was set up for us, Red Bull.

To cap it all off, the entire team at Red Bull has just as much fun if not more than the participants. It was truly a rewarding week! =)

Exo-X Series at Hulu Langat

Over a grand total of 187 sports enthusiast took part in this endurance race that was held in Hulu Langat. By half past seven, all sprinters have registered and were ever ready to get the race going.

Everyone at the starting lane, waiting anxiously for the whistle to go off.

Once the flag off happened at 8am, the Red Bull truck was used as the lead car for the Eco-Sprint challengers along the first leg of the race.

Red Bull also set up a station at one of the check points to give out some refreshment to keep their energy level going.

These participants were caught taking a break with none other than Red Bull!

Another sprinter was seen gulping down a Red Bull before running off to the finishing line.

All in all, it was a long exhausting day but nevertheless very fulfilling because everyone seemed to have left with a big grin on their face.

Red Bull Power Grind!

It's OFFICIAL!

The Red Bull Power Grind is happening on the 7th of June 2008 (that's a Saturday, people!) and YOU'RE invited!

Held as a big skate jam session, it's going to be one heck of a party and it's going on from 2pm all the way up till 10pm.

Of course there'll be some awesome skating sessions on the course, but even if you're unable to differentiate between a wheelie and an ollie, there's also gonna be bands playing LIVE, awesome food and great shopping!

Media Teaser Session at the Sepang International Circuit

Selected members of the media were invited to witness first hand what the Red Bull Female Rookie Team are made of.

The result of a nationwide search spanning over three months, in October of 2007 Nurlina Johor, Leona Chin, Baizura Ruslan and Puteri Ayu Jasmin were officially named the members of the Red Bull Rookie Team 2008.

As part of the teaser session, the journalists were invited to come and meet the girls who were on the track as part of training.

Apart from a group interview interview sessions and photo ops, the journalists were also given the chance to chat with the girls one on one as well being invited to sit in the car as the girls drove them around the track.

This way, the girls were fully able to show off their capabilites and also to reinforce the fact they are indeed ready to race and definitely a force to be reckoned with.
